Sarah Ortmeyer (*1980, Frankfurt) is a graduate of Städelschule. Her work has been exhibited at institutions worldwide, most recently at the Riga International Biennale of Contemporary Art (Riga); Palais de Toyo (Paris);  Chicago Manual Style (Chicago); Kunstverein Munich (Munich); S.M.A.K Museum of Contemporary Art (Ghent); MAK Center (Los Angeles); Belvedere21 (Vienna) and Warsaw Museum of Modern Art (Warsaw).

 „PALMA (& EDITION)“ is part of Sarah Ortmeyer’s „EMOJI SHADOW Series“, exhibited lately in solo exhibtions at Kunstverein Munich and Chicago Manual Style.
Depicting the shadow of the PALMA emojicon, it captures the essence of the codex as both a type of script and a physical object capable of existing in nature.

Works by Sarah Ortmeyer are part of several institutional collections, such as Hamburger Bahnhof Berlin, S.M.A.K. Ghent and Frac Nord-Pas de Calais.
