Sarah Ortmeyer (*1980, Frankfurt) is a graduate of Städelschule and lives in Vienna, Austria. Her work has been exhibited at institutions worldwide, most recently at Chicago Manual Style (Chicago); Kunstverein Munich (Munich); S.M.A.K Museum of Contemporary Art (Ghent); MAK Center (Los Angeles); Warsaw Museum of Modern Art and KW Institute (Berlin).

„PALMA (& EDITION)“ is part of Sarah Ortmeyer’s „emoji shadow series“, which the artist exhibited lately in solo shows at Kunstverein Munich and at Chicago Manual Style.
Depicting the shadow of the famous palm emoticon, it captures the essence of the codex as both a type of script and a physical object capable of existing in nature.

Works by Sarah Ortmeyer are part of several institutional collections, like Hamburger Bahnhof Berlin, S.M.A.K. Ghent and Frac Nord-Pas de Calais.
