Tauba Auerbach (*1981, USA) is a visual artist working across many disciplines including painting, photography, sculpture and artist books. She founded the publishing house „Diagonal Press“, which is publishing books, posters and other items in unlimited editions. Auberach’s works get exhibited in international instititutional solo shows like at San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, ICA London and Malmö Kunsthall. Works by her were included in the Whitney Biennial and Gwangju Biennale.
The work „Helix Lash“ was published by the artist and Museum in Progress in the year 2016 in an edition of 15. The limited edition consists of two intertwined parts and comes with a hook and instructions for hanging it on the wall as well as with a stamped and numbered collector’s box, which is signed by the artist. Its form is referring directly to Tauba Auerbach’s safety curtain for the Vienna State Opera, which was on view in the opera season 2016/17.
Works by Tauba Auerbach are part of many international art collections, like of MoMA New York, Whitney Museum and SFMoMA.
