AA Bronson and Keith Boadwee collaborate on an homage to the anus. They have created a painting series titled PLAID, performative works created by squirting paint using their bodies. The paintings are simultaneously a nod to and simulacrum of classic modernist serial painting and Actionism both; they posit the body, and especially—in Freudian terms—the anus, as the font of creation. The performance was documented by Georg Petermichl and two photographs of this series were published by Salzburger Kunstverein as an edition of 20.

Keith Boadwee (*1961, USA) is an artist, who became first famous for his homoerotic photographies, but whose paintings are as well on view in international exhibitions, like at Salzburger Kunstverein, Atelier 34zero Museum, SF Camera Work, Santa Monica Museum of Art and New Museum New York.

AA Bronson (*1946, Canada) formed in 1969 the artists’ group General Idea with Felix Partz and Jorge Zontal. Since his partners died in 1994, AA has worked and exhibited as a solo artist, often collaborating with younger generations, most recently in his performance series Invocation of the Queer Spirits. His works were on view in solo exhibitions at KW Institute of Contemporary Art, Kunsthalle Wichita, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and Secession in Vienna.

Georg Petermichl (*1980, Austria) is an artist, whose research and concept based works, often photographies, wish to explain complex social reality. His works were on view in solo- and group exhibitions at New Jörg, Museum der Moderne Rupertinum Salzburg, Belvedere 21, Kunsthalle Wien and Fotohof.
