Olaf Nicolai (*1962, Germany) is a conceptual artist working in different medias. Recent solo exhibitions by him were held at Kunsthalle Vienna, MUSEION Bolzano, Museum Boijmans van Beuningen and Pinakothek der Moderne Munich.

This limited box contains a collection of media images with aesthetic/poetic and (socio-)political connotations. Those images were painted on the floor of Kunsthalle Wien in the exhibition „There is no place before arrival“  in the year 2018.  As an extension of this exhibition, museum in progress presented the painted newspaper photos in cooperation with Kunsthalle Vienna in the media environment of eighteen media partners. All of those magazines, which include the images selected by Olaf Nicolai, are part of this limited box.

Works by Olaf Nicolai are included in institutional art collections, like of Hamburger Bahnhof, Migros Museum, CAAC Sevilla and TBA21.
