The  interdisciplinary label Atelier E.B. was founded by artist Lucy McKenzie and fashion and textile designer Beca Lipscombe. Since 2011, Atelier E.B has combined fashion, art, display design, andexhibition-making.

Their collaborative work spans textiles, interiors and cultural-historical research—often beyond traditional distribution channels. Instead of catwalks or mass production, Atelier E.B uses installations, exhibitions, and limited collections to rethink fashion as a cultural practice.

Atelier E.B (Edinburgh, Brussels) produced these scarfs exclusively on the occasion of a solo exhibition by Luzy McKenzie at fjk3 in 2025. The scarf’s design is derived from an illusionistic painting by Lucy McKenzie, which forms the backdrop of the window display installation Faux Sports Shop—a mise-en-scène of a fashion boutique reminiscent of a past era, where Atelier E.B’s clothing appears to float on nylon threads in front of a seemingly iridescent curtain.
The respective 1:1 details of the trompe l’œil painting show an abstract interplay of lines, depth and color on fine silk. In version Scarf I, the grid pattern of the painted curtain meets the texture of the fabric, while version Scarf II uses colored lines and fields to suggest spatial depth.

Material and features:
100% mulberry Habotai silk ultra-light, smooth, elegant drape, cooling, with a subtle sheen, vivid colors. Versatile to wear as a neck scarf, headscarf, or accessory.

Care instructions:
Hand wash in cold water using silk detergent - Do not wring—gently squeeze and lay flat to dry. Iron on the reverse side with low heat setting

Each scarf is unique—due to the artisanal production process, slight variations in the print may occur. Made in England.
